Certain items require a bit more exposure than what any shop can offer locally in order to sell for what they're really worth. We maximize your selling potential by listing certain items for sale online, as well as in our boutique. This way our consignors get the added benefit of a worldwide market for their pieces. Our FABULOUS NEW WEBSTORE is up and running at www.shopkarmaonline.com! We are also an Ebay Powerseller and a registered Ebay drop off location. Our regular clients are from London, Paris, Australia and Hong Kong. Our custom Vintage Gown pictured on the Recent Consignments page went to the Grammys this year! Also pictured below is a one-of-a-kind vintage Stephen Sprouse sequin mini dress that we sold online last year and that later appeared in People Magazine's style section worn by supermodel Amber Rose (pictured with Kanye West...interesting note - she has it on backwards!)
LOCAL CONSIGNORS: You don't need an appointment to drop off a consignment for review. However, we do limit first time consignors to 15 pieces and you may want to call in advance to see what kind of items we are or are not taking at the time. Keep in mind that we are an upscale consignment boutique and we try to keep each piece in the store unique and current...We only accept high end designer and couture consignments. Please see the designer list for label guidance. We do NOT currently accept the following brands: Gap, Old Navy, Jones of NY, Evan Piccone, Moda, Forever 21, Charlotte Ruse, Anne Klein, Liz Claiborne, Kathy Ireland, Dress Barn, Fashion Bug, Lane Bryant, The Limited, Tommy Hilfiger, Polo Sport, American Eagle, American Outfitters, Abercrombie and Fitch, Levi, J. Jill, Nine West, Guess, Weathervane, Chicos, Express, any Target brand or Talbots. These labels just don't sell for us. Items that we do take on consignment include: clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories. We generally do not take suits and are extremely selective with pants and very formal wear (long gowns, ect.) Items in those categories tend to be much slower to sell. Shoes will only be considered for consignment if they are virtually brand new or a very high end label. We also do not take wedding dresses, maternity, men's or children's clothing. Due to lack of storage space we cannot accept any consignments that are out of season. All items must be in excellent condition, cleaned, pressed and on hangers when brought in. You must be able to guarantee authenticity of your items. We do not accept replicas. ALL ITEMS WILL BE AUTHENTICATED PRIOR TO CONSIGNMENT. If you have proof of authenticity (sales reciepts, authenticity documents ect) please bring them in along with the item to speed along this process. Also, items that are offered for sale with the authenticity documents and original packaging (boxes, dustbags ect) can command a much higher sales price. Please understand that we have a very limited amount of space and need to maintain a certain range of sizes and styles. For this reason we very rarely take every item that is brought in for consignment. Please do not be offended if this is the case, we simply have to make the most use of our space.
 We do a lot of research on every piece and price them according to what the market will bear. If you have a specific sales price in mind please let us know at the time of drop off. We will do our best to accommodate you, however, all prices are set at our discretion. You are welcome to take your item back if you are unhappy with its resale value. Keep in mind that on average most items depreciate 50% off of their initial value the second you walk out of the store with them (and that's before wearing them!) However, the resale value does depend on the brand and type of item. Some get more, some get less. Because we research every item prior to tagging it we are unable to give you a price on the spot. We will email you an inventory report once we'd had a chance to go through your items and price them, usually within 3 business days. Because we do not go through your items at the time of drop off we cannot provide an itemized receipt of the items that you bring in for consideration. If you would like a receipt please have two copies prepared at the time of drop off and a store representative will sign off on them. Also, please note that we do offer a progressive discount. Please see that section in our website for more info. You'll need to come back to pick up any pieces we haven't taken for consignment within 72 hours. We are happy to donate them for you should you not wish to return.
Our contract is for 90 days and the consignment split is 50/50. We do offer a 10% bonus on certain brands of high end handbags. It is the consignors responsibility to pick up any items left unsold after the 90 day term has expired. Any items left in the store after the 90 day mark become the property of Karma and will be donated to charity. You must give us at least 72 hours notice to retrieve your items. As a registered Ebay Drop Off Location we are required to bond certain high end item that we list on consignment. This is for both the buyers and the consignors protection. There is a value threshhold and certain exemptions apply so please contact us for more info. . All store inventory is also covered by our business insurance.
 To redeem the balance in your consignor account you must request a consignment check either over the telephone or on our website in the first seven days of the month. Some consignors prefer to receive a check once a month, some prefer to wait until the end of their contract and some prefer to shop on store credit, which you are able to do at any time throughout the month. Should you use your account balance to shop on store credit you are entitled to a 10% discount on top of our normal progressive discount. The 10% discount also applies to any purchases made with a gift card issued from your consignor balance. A lot of our consignors find it useful to build up their account balances during the year and use the funds to give the cards as gifts during the holiday season. Checks that are requested are issued and mailed between the 8th and the 15th of the month for the previous months sales. You will receive a report of items sold with your monthly check. You can also request a sales report from our website at any other time throughout the month. Online consignors please note that we deduct half of the cost of your shipping from your first check request. We pick up the other half.
